Our client is a leading automotive part manufacturer in North America. We are looking for a Millwright for the weekend shift to support the Maintenance function.
Work location: Newmarket, Bayview / Mulock
Day or Night shift available, two days per weekend
Night shift:
Friday night – 11pm start to 10:30am finish
Saturday night – 10pm to 9am
Day shift :
Saturday – 10:30am start to 10pm finish
Sunday – 9am to 8pm
Pay rate: $30/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical problems
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) schedules (as required) on machinery and Plant Support equipment
- Suggest preventative measures to minimize or eliminate breakdowns
- Maintain correct safety standards at all times
- Complete all check sheets and records as it relates to the P.M. program, Work Orders, etc
- Member of the Emergency Response Team
- Capable of instructing maintenance personnel in trade-related tasks and skills
- Diagnose and repair basic electrical problems with equipment
- Modify machinery and equipment and overhaul machines as directed
- Install, set up, and commission new equipment
- Must be aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how it affects the quality and the environment for our customers
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Completion of specialized trade courses and/or apprenticeship/certification.
- 3 to less than 5 years of work related experience.
- Minimum Certified Tradesman (Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright)
- Minimum 1 year directly related trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Stamping environment
- Must have an exceptional Safety Record
- Familiar with the Safe Handling and Storage of compressed gases
- Skilled in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Mechanics and Controls
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) equivalency preferred

- Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed.
- Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.
- Review and adhere to health and safety rules, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies.
- Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues.
- Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment.
- In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
- Customer satisfaction (internal/external)
- Ensure equipment and machine downtime is kept to a minimum
- Meet all Department goals and objectives
