Production Manager - Automotive

Leading automotive manufacturer looking for a production manager to start as soon as possible. This is a world-class provider of metal stampings and subassemblies to the automotive manufacturers and other select industries.

• Working location: Scarborough, ON
• Salary: $80K-85K
• Full-time, perm role
• Reporting to the Plant Manager

Job Duties: 

• Ensure compliance with all organizational standards of work practice, safety, policies and legal regulations
• Overseeing daily activities of the plant operations and production
• Overseeing the activities of employees to ensure efficient and safe work operations while ensuring procedures and good housekeeping 
• Work closely with operators, production supervisors and team leads
• Manage and assign production to workforce
• Analyze production and quality metrics and makes recommendations for improvements as well as solutions to issues that are identified
• Make adjustments when necessary to ensure productivity targets are met
• Inspect and monitor equipment to ensure they are operational and in good working order in coordination with maintenance associates
• Effectively lead, train, develop, and coach supervisors to meet goals and objectives
• Assist Plant Manager in initiating and overseeing process improvement to ensure continuous operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction

Education and Requirements:

• Strong technical background must include knowledge of sheet metal stamping processes and equipment, including punch presses, automatic presses, stamping presses, tooling, etc.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility
• Experience in developing, implementing and auditing standardized work instructions throughout a manufacturing facility
• Ability to effectively identify issues/problems and communicate with other production departments
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn complex equipment and operations
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of IATF / TS16949 policies & procedures
