Our client, a leading manufacturer of Automotive parts, is looking for Manufacturing Engineers to join their team. We are looking for engineers with 2-3 years of manufacturing experience.
Full-time, Perm role
Location: Etobicoke
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support and liaison with customer’s manufacturing plants and engineering
- Prepare product, process, and tooling feasibility studies, detailed product and tooling cost quotations in response to customer inquiries as well as in-depth presentations
- Analyze and implement on-going process improvements to improve production efficiencies and product quality
- Manage capacity tooling for existing programs and supervise tooling try-outs and sample preparation (AAR, ETR, PTR) for submission to customers
- Develop a team dynamics and facilitate regular meetings with toolmakers and Tier II suppliers
- Assist in the development of designing of tooling, secondary equipment, and checking gauges
- Assist with ongoing projects and the preventative maintenance of tools and secondary equipment
- Conduct process studies and make recommendations for temperature, material, mechanical and manual processes and systems to enhance manufacturing and improve efficiencies
- Manage and facilitate Advance Product Quality Planning and design for manufacturing meetings for current programs
- Participate in all pre-production builds and co-ordinate PTR parts to ensure all timing and quality requirements are met
- Manage and drive engineering changes for your assigned zone as well as internal scrap reduction initiatives for your assigned zone
- Manage and report run-at-rate / product demonstration run and capacity study activities for your assigned zone
- Work with manufacturing and quality in the establishment DFMEA, PFMEA, job breakdown sheets, standard work chart, and any other applicable documents necessary to support manufacturing
- May be required to travel from time to time
Job Requirements:
- Engineering degree supported by a Mechanical/Electrical Technician background
- 2-3 years manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA) is an asset
- Knowledge of PLC programming would be an asset
- Ability to evaluate, plan, analyze and make viable decision in a JIT work environment to ensure efficiency and timely implementation
- Basic understanding of budgets and financial reporting
- Project Management skills
- Knowledge of Ergonomics, General Manufacturing practices/Lean Manufacturing/5S
- Production inventory concepts/MRP System Manufacturing knowledge
