Financial Controller


Our client is a rapidly growing industrial safety business offers on-the-job safety solutions to industries across North America, currently, we are looking for Financial Controller to start as soon as possible in Font Hill, Ontario

Reporting directly to the Partners who lead the business, primary areas of responsibility include financial planning, budgeting and analysis, cash flow modeling and treasury management, accounts receivable and accounts payable, bookkeeping, financial reporting and loan compliance. 

This position offers the opportunity to build and lead the finance, accounting and control operations from the ground. We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of relevant experience who is thoughtful,
diligent and has very strong attention to detail.


Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Structuring and developing the company's finance function and internal controls
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
  • Cmodelingmodelling and treasury management
  • Financial planning, budgeting and analysis
  • Working with the sales team on product pricing, costing and margins
  • Overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Managing payroll and external payroll administrators
  • bookkeeping and journal entry recording
  • Maintaining and managing periodic tax filings
  • Overseeing foreign exchange hedging and currency management

Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related
    field
  • CPA designation is required
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices with preference given
    to those with expertise in Canadian GAAP (ASPE)
  • Experience working in finance/accounting with small-to-medium sized businesses
  • Impressive attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and emphasis on high
    quality work product
  • Proficiency in common accounting software packages (experience with Xero accounting software is beneficial) and Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel)
  • Minimum of four years experience in a related role (including time spent with a reputable
    accounting firm)
  • Hard-working, positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit is crucial
