Maintenance Manager

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company is looking for a Maintenance Manager with strong food industry experience, engineering background and strong electrical and mechanical knowledge to join their Mitchell location.

The Maintenance Manager will have overall responsibility for all facilities and maintenance management. This includes planning and implementing efficiencies within current facilities and future development and/or expansion of capacity and facilities. Also, to supervise the duties of all maintenance staff to address day-to-day equipment and process challenges.


Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant services including cost control, safety and product quality
  • Provide leadership for the entire plant maintenance group, utilizing project management methodology for plant operating improvements
  • Oversee the smooth operational support for the power engineering group
  • Development and management of annual Maintenance / Engineering Department budget
  • Analyze current and future opportunities for cost savings
  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures, user manuals and training materials
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP regulations and various government regulations including maintaining all relevant documentation 


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years Management experience in a trade / engineering-oriented function
  • Mechanical / Industrial Engineer (preferred) or Mechanical Millwright or Electrician License
  • The ideal candidate would have at least a class A Refrigeration engineer ticket
  • Working Knowledge of CAD System & Blueprints
  • Working knowledge of ammonia plant operations including powerhouse support
  • Strong project management skills in planning, scheduling, assigning, budgeting and managing
  • Maintains and updates the preventative maintenance program to ensure Food Safety requirements are met
  • Strong ability to manage details, organize facts and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Working Location: Mitchell, ON 

Full-time Day shift
