Production Scheduler

Our client, a manufacturer of automotive parts, is looking for a Production Scheduler to join their team. The Production Scheduler is responsible for accurate scheduling and inventory. The Production Scheduler is also responsible for fulfilling all tasks and activities within the assigned department to achieve company goals and objectives, at its lowest possible cost and at the optimal quality level.

Location: Scarborough, ON

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years experience in a related field in an automotive environment preferably stamping and welding
  • College or University graduate in a related field
  • Good working knowledge of ERP Systems preferably Trans4M
  • Working towards an APICS CIPM designation or certification an asset
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 Quality System Standards
  • Good communication skills both verbal and in writing
  • Proficiency in related computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating/generating daily production schedules, based on release analysis and shipment tracking to meet customer timelines.
  • Work closely and effectively with production to discuss production schedule.
  • Work closely with customer service for any customer release issues and provide delivery schedule if customer requirement cannot be met as required.
  • Monitor customer order fluctuations, project any capacity line issues and overtime requirements and communicate to Materials Manager and Operations Manager.
  • Communicate changes to all parties involved.
  • Liaise with Supplier Release Analyst to ensure ample supplies of raw materials are on hand in time for production.
  • Monitor and review all jobs daily to report on the status of the delivery dates and communicate to Materials team and related departments.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of inventory that reduce and eliminate premium freight instances and ensure on time delivery.
  • Proactively identify concerns that cause schedule changes and work to continuously improve schedule adherence.
  • Identify reasons for overtime and work with the team members to eliminate root cause.
  • Analyze and implement actions necessary to a achieve inventory turn goal.
  • Cross train to other positions in Materials to cover for vacations and absenteeism.
  • Able to Communicate to Operation Manager and Tooling Manager and make the suggestion to remove die if delayed.
  • Provide QPM schedule to Maintenance Manager without compromising daily production schedules
  • Investigate inventory issues and / or discrepancies and perform cycle / inventory counts as required.
  • Maintain capacity planning on all golden lines and proactively identify issues and propose solutions to ensure that customer demands will be met.
