Maintenance Manager

Our client, a leading manufacturer of automotive parts, is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their team. We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in a management role with a mechanical/electrical engineering background. 

Perm hire, Full-time

Salary: $85K-$95K

Location: Concord, ON

Job Responsibilities:

• Managing the overall building and grounds maintenance of all buildings   
• Effectively manage projects and multitask in a timely manner   
• Effectively manage procurement and external contracts through internal Contractor Management Procedures     
• Analyze current contracts, determine cost saving strategies and negotiate with suppliers/contractors
• Proposing and advising on energy efficiencies and cost savings 
• Managing cleaning contracts       
• Actively involved with utilities and communications infrastructure       
• Working collaboratively with Human Resources and IT to ensure appropriate and timely space and seating plan management
• Key involvement with CI projects to improve plant efficiency
• Ensuring the building’s Health and safety of occupants and outside visitors 
• Requesting the assistance and support of Facility Maintenance Associates by General Manager when required
• Overseeing and training associates on “on the job tasks” and enforcing health and safety requirements at all times
• Enforcing all safety, environmental, 6S and quality policies and procedures
• Assisting with catering and vending for  internal functions and customer visits
• Participating with appropriate committees as required/appointed (JHSC/6S, etc.)
• Not authorized to conduct any work outside of legislated or CSA requirements
• Any and all other functions and responsibilities assigned by management

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role.
• University degree or Diploma preferred. Construction trades an asset.
• Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering principles, theories, and practices.
• Competent in OHSA and its regulations.
• Thorough understanding of ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Must have negotitation skills for contracts.
• Strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and analytical skills with the ability to trouble shoot.
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while promoting a team environment.
