Purchasing Coordinator

Our client, a leading manufacturer of consumer products, is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join their team. We are looking for individuals with at least 2 years of procurement experience, a University degree, and superior negotiation and communication skills.

 

Perm role, Full-time

Location: Concord, ON

Salary: 65K

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze spend and identify margin enhancement opportunities
  • Request quotes from vendors, evaluate price, and set up new items in the system
  • Evaluate supplier quotations and develop negotiation strategies focused on improving our competitive position in the market place.
  • Monthly price Impacts: Compare new price to current price and analyze increase/decrease in annual spend
  • Generate Purchase Order History reports and analyze monthly and annual spend
  • Resolve invoices and purchase orders price discrepancies
  • Generate annual forecasts report and analyzing future annual spend
  • Generate specs report for all current items and evaluate savings opportunities
  • Compare different vendors’ pricing and advise on best vendor

 

Job Requirments:

  • A minimum of 2 years practical procurement experience with a University Degree is required
  • Well-developed negotiation skills and experience are required
  • Experience with SAP and JDEdwards, E1 is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a customer service focus
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with diplomacy and tact is a must
  • A strong sense of urgency and time management skills with excellent initiative and follow-up capabilities are mandatory in this role
