Maintenance Technician / Mechanic Apprentice - Scarborough, ON

World Leading Cosmetics Manufacturing company hiring Maintenance Technician.

The position is responsible for the production equipment, ensuring regular machine maintenance to minimize downtime.  

This position also does the set-up and any necessary adjustment to ensure the smooth running of the line.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:      

1.     Set-up lines, ensuring all necessary components are in place.

2.     Ensure machines have been cleaned and sanitized.

3.     Ensure machines have been micro-biology tested.

4.     Ensure Quality Control passes the line for production.

5.     Ensure Quality Control approves the bulk, and then fill hoppers.

6.     Adjust volume, speed for each component.

7.     Follow-up that end of the line is functioning.

8.     Maintenance of all production equipment to function accurately, minimizing breakdowns and downtime.

9.     Change filters on compressors bi-monthly.

10.   Clean-up of all spills, ensuring all conveyor parts are clean.

11.  Calibration of all tools, follow up to ensure the accuracy of tools calibrated by outside vendors.

Required Experience 

1.     Previous “shop” experience, Mechanical ability and aptitude.

2.     General exposure to hand tools/Power tools, welding machine, grinder, Scissor-lift and hand pump truck.

3.     Mathematically inclined, ability to measure.
