QA Engineer

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company is hiring a QA Engineer to join their team.

Working Location: Mississauga, ON

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

Job Description:

Review production quality indicators (offline/scrap/QCRs) and work with production and engineering to analyze and develop countermeasures
Support the implementation of processes and provide daily direction to ensure quality standards
Lead and support the the implementation of corrective actions to resolve quality concerns or complaints
Prepare PPAP for customers and access the supplier PPAP for bearing key components
Conduct internal and supplier audits
Drive efforts to improve quality metrics in complaints from customers and First Time Through (FTT)
Conduct capability studies and SPC to ensure processes are optimized and capable of meeting specifications and reducing waste
Maintain quality documentation: forms, instructions and procedures
Supervise and coach QA technicians, QA inspectors and General Inspectors
Write re-inspection plans and checking rates for off-line holds with
proper documentation and establish permanent corrective actions
Follow up with 8Ds and solutions to customer claims
Continuous Improvement - evaluate process changes to improve productivity, reduce cost and improve quality
Evaluate and recommend measuring machines for precision measuring to control and monitor processes
Develop WIs and SOPs that are compliant with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Standards and customer specific requirements

Requirements:

Must be familiar with 8D, 5Why processes
Must be familiar with AIAG Core Tools
Must be able to work in the fast-paced environment and handle a high-volume workload with the ability to prioritize tasks
Manufacturing experience in a unionized environment and assembly line production experience an asset
Knowledge of 5S, 3D Visualization, Quality Standards, Application of Collective Agreements, ISO 9001 /IATF 16949 / 14001 Standards and
Lean Manufacturing
Excellent communication skills
Supervisory skills
Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PPT)

Education and Experience:

University / College degree in Quality Assurance with manufacturing experience is preferred (transcipts required)
Minimum 1-3 years of working experience
Engineering: 1 year (Required)
