Millwright / Maintenance Mechanic Day Shift

Leading Automotive manufacturing company is hiring Millwrights.

  • One straight Day shift (7am-3pm) 
  • One straight Night shift (11pm-7am)  
  • Ideally the night shift would be dual ticketed or Electrician with a mechanical aptitude

 

Related Work Experience/Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of industrial mechanic experience in a manufacturing plant, with preferred experience in automotive components manufacturing and automated equipment
  • Certificate of Qualification in Millwright (433A)
  • Must have a good command of the English language (speak, read, write)
  • General knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Strong knowledge of component parts assembly and understanding of automated systems and interactions of equipment components (ie. Controllers, valves, solenoids, cylinders, etc)
  • Knowledge of production welding processes (MIG, Spot Projection, etc) and equipment set-up
  • General knowledge of PLC equipment, and sensory devices
  • Understanding of electrical fundamentals (ie. Low and high voltage circuits, motors, etc)
  • Strong knowledge of component parts assembly and understanding of automated systems and interactions of equipment components (ie. Controllers, valves, cylinders, servo drives, presses, riveters, conveyor systems, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems)
  • The use of lathes, milling machines and grinders may be required to make customized parts or repairs.
  • Familiarity with ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in equipment up time, and elimination of downtime potentials to maximize equipment efficiency
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks and scheduled items
  • Support and implement resolutions for mechanical issues found in the equipment, through suggestions and necessary equipment adjustments
  • As necessary complete machining projects to help with equipment issues, or support of new business requirements
  • Assist in manufacturing projects implementation to launch new programs or to support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Give suggestions on equipment PLC programs to provide improvement in plant efficiency of product quality
  • Complete miscellaneous plant projects as required (mounting and/or assembly of items, installation of airlines, etc.)
