Our client leading food industry looking for Senior Developer and Technical Services Manager to Join the organization.

Shift and Salary :  Day shift 70K+

Location :  Etobicoke, ON

Job Description: Senior Developer and Technical Services Manager

Position Overview: Reporting to the Director, R&D the Senior Developer and Technical Services Manager functions as an integral member of Product Development Team, a team focused on developing high quality sauces, mayonnaise and dressings for our customers. Each team member shares in the responsibility for establishing and maintaining a professional working environment that is committed to customer service, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Coverage in case of Absence: In the absence of the Senior Developer and Technical Services Manager, an R&D Technologist and/or the Director, R&D will cover his/her designated post.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

Lead team centered around a SME for Regulatory including nutritional labeling and ingredient statements, plant optimization, standard documentation and lab support
Introduce innovations to provide competitive advantage to company and Company’s customers
Develop high quality products from ideation to plant commercialization for custom and branded products ensuring R&D related deliverables are met
Manage and document product development projects through formulation development, bench top testing, sensory evaluation, raw material sourcing and analytical testing.
Prepare samples for customer presentations and participate in product cuttings providing support to Sales.
Lead plant trials, develop manufacturing procedures, monitor initial production and finalize product implementation to Operations Team.     
Various other R&D lab duties
 

Qualifications/Experience:

Expertise in Canadian Food legislation requirements,
Expertise in nutritional guidelines and ingredient labelling
Experience in the development of sauces, mayonnaise and salad dressings
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, follow and provide instruction
Post Secondary education in Food Science or a related field (BSc or equivalent)
5+ years of experience in a similar role
Experience managing / supervising staff
Experience in a Food Manufacturing or related Food Industry environment
 

Reporting of any Food Safety or Quality Problems:

Staff are to report any food safety or food quality problems or concerns that they become aware of to personnel with authority to initiate action.
