Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company is hiring a Human Resources Manager to join their team.
Location: Mississauga, ON
Hours of work: Monday to Friday
Salary: $80-85K per year, permenant poistion with excellent benefits package
Requirements:
- University degree/Certification in Human Resources Management with CHRP designation
- Five years progressive human resources experience in a manufacturing settting
- Experience working within a unionized environment
- Exposure to grievance procedures, employee/labour relations, union negotiation, recruitment, performance management, benefits administration and claims management
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of labour relaitions and payroll legislation
- Ability to deal with confidential information and sensitive situations
- Demonstrated strong time management skills, ability to multi task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of staff
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (excel, word, power point)
Duties and Responsibilies:
- Provide both a strategic and hands on approach to senior management in the areas of Labour & Employee Relations policy and procedural development and succession planning
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends
- Interprets and administers collective bargaining agreement, manages grievance investigations, meetings
- Work directly with the union to build strong relationships, and to effectively resolve labour relation issues
- Implement labour relations strategies that meet the needs of the organization
- Conduct work place investigations, and prepare reports with outcomes and recommendations
- Assist in the negotiation of the collective agreement
- Member of the Labour Management Committee
- Assist the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist with WSIB claims
- Member of Health and Safety Committee
- Coordinate all aspects of recruitment, including job postings, sourcing recruitment methods, interviewing candidates, reference checks and providing employment offers
- Maintain the Rewards and Recognition Programs
- Benefits administration, including processing enrollments/termination and changes to benefit plans, answering employee inquiries
- Administer short term and long term disability claims
- Process and track performance reviews that will impact the annual and progression increases
- HR metrics reports i.e, head count, grievances, turnover and other ad hoc reports
- Provide management with guidance on employement legistlation and collective agreement interpretation
- Develop and maintain procedures aimed at improving the quality and delivery of human resources programs/services
- Assist with expats immigration paperwork
