Mould Maker (Tooling), Auto-Parts (Brampton)

A leading auto-parts manufacturing company is hiring.


Responsibilities:
- Carry out tool maintenance functions required in order to keep the plant operating to full capacity
- Perform mould maintenance, engineering changes and preventative maintenance
- Keep record up to date and accurate
- Analyze specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metal working tools, moulds, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges
- Participate in the design and rework of both new and old tooling
- Check and inspect all equipment, including lifting and hoisting equipment, for wear, damage or malfunction
- Keep records up to date and accurate
- Must be available for call-ins; Schedule often revolves around plant downtime, which includes evenings, weekends and scheduled holidays; Must be able to work flexible hours
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
- Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Adhere to applicable quality systems and TS16949 standards
- Work within the guidelines of the company's Employee Handbook
- Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
- Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
- Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:
- Minimum completion of Grade 12 diploma Certification of qualification -- Mould Maker
- Minimum 5 years experience in a mould making role
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate in word & spreadsheet programs
- Thorough knowledge of tool hydraulics and electrical systems
- Ability to perform TIG welding an asset
- Able to read and interpret documents such as blue prints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Able to operate with minimal supervision
- Physically able to operate a forklift Able to operate a crane
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills

Location: Steels & Finch (Brampton)

Shift: Weekend or Night shift

Salary: $30.63/hr. Will be $ 32.24/hr after 3 months
