Banking Niche - Analyst

Our client, a leading Canadian banking institution, is looking for a Niche Analyst to join their team. We are looking a recent post-Graduate to work on a variety of special projects as part of a 6+ month assignment.

 

Contract term: 02/04/2018 to 25/03/2019 (1 year), possible extension and conversion

Pay rate: $24.75/hour

Full-time: 37.5 hours

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm

 

Must have:

  • Letter of credit experience must haves minimum of 2 years
  • Analytical
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Microsoft- outlook and word

Nice to have:

  • Positive attitude
  • Certification:
    UCP 600, ISP 98 and URDG758

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of the Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) & Letter of Guarantee (LG) transactional life cycle in a global environment
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Trade Finance and sound knowledge of related ICC rules and regulations (UCP 600, ISP 98 and URDG758)
  • Reviewing text of guarantees requested by clients and providing comments either directly to clients or relationship managers
  • Drafting, issuing, advising and amending different types of SBLC/Guarantees and processing any other requests or correspondence regarding SBLC/ Guarantees issued or advised
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place to minimize risk and demonstrate strong process management skills
  • Identify potential risks and operational gaps; recommend and document resolutions 
  • Client Focused and effectively handle difficult requests, build trusting, long-term relationships with Institutional, Corporate and Commercial clients, and manage client/business expectations as well as being able to view problems through the eyes of the client

Education/Experience:

  • University degree
  • college diploma- technical
