Compounding Supervisor

Position Overview: • Ensure batches are preweighed and batched on time to meet production needs. • Ensure all employees follow all safety and personal protective equipment rules, • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). • Communicate with Planning, Production and Scheduling regarding any delays or shortages of batches. • Train workers in safety, preweighing, batching, and colouring procedures. • Supervision of Preweigh/Compounding workers. Duties & Responsibilities • Ensure batches are produced in accordance with the production schedule. • Support the preweighers and batchers when issues arise and produce batches/ coloured batches if needed. • Oversee staff to ensure that safety/SOP/GMP/company guidelines are followed. • Attend required courses on Health and Safety, confined space entry and workplace accident investigations. • Work as a resource with Research and Development on any changes that are made to the batching procedures in order to make the necessary adjustments to the master documents. • Communicate and help resolve employee concerns with management. • Work with maintenance to ensure defective equipment is repaired. • Regularly review and assess health risks/occupational hazards, and communicate findings to the JHSC for review and action in compliance with regulatory/statutory requirements/standards • Actively contribute and participate in correcting identified occupational health & safety deficiencies • Recommend and evaluate best practices as related to health & safety policies and programs in the department • Conduct monthly workplace inspections and address health and safety concerns in an appropriate timeframe • Complete and return accident/incident investigations thoroughly and promptly ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented • Provide support to the Early & Safe Return to Work program • Provide assistance and counseling to employees as required on the application health & safety policies and procedures • Serve on and/or support the divisional (Joint) Health & Safety Committee(s) and ensure committees have the support and tools required for success • Identify training needs of staff regularly • Become knowledgeable with and conduct all work related activities in accordance with applicable OHSA legislation and company policies and procedures • Maintenance and verification of training documentation on an annual basis • Perform other duties as assigned Education & Experience • 2 Year community college graduate • 4 – 6 years experience in a Compounding environment • Training in WHMIS, GMP, SOP • Supervisory experience and training Salary: 55K-62K
