Shipper/Receiver - $17.00/hr - Day shift, Richmond Hill, ON.
Our company is hiring for Shipper/Receiver for a leading Pipe manufacturing company in Richmond Hill.
Job summary
Responsible for picking and packing customer orders meeting customer requirements. Also responsible for receiving material and placing in appropriate areas of the warehouse and checking shipping and receiving lists to ensure accuracy. Additional responsibilities include ensuring complete inventory accuracy through use of warehouse locator systems. Warehouse safety and cleanliness must be adhered to by using protective equipment, operating equipment safely and performing necessary warehouse housekeeping tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, unpack and sort incoming materials in an organized fashion
- Process and pack incoming customer orders in preparation for shipping
- Provide service to walk-in customers
- Maintain accurate inventory records through the use of an on inventory locator control system
- Safe operation of warehousing equipment in accordance with safety procedures
- Provide some backup to office personnel on occasion
- Maintain warehouse safety and cleanliness
Education and Skill Requirement:
- High school diploma or educational equivalent
- On the job training (min 18 months warehouse experience preferred)
- Ability and certification to operate forklift a benefit
- Computer skills beneficial
- Job task planning and organizing
- Ability to interact with customers and provide exceptional customer service on a daily basis
- Good communicator and able to work well as part of a team worker
- Energetic and able to act on own initiative and unsupervised
- Able to do some lifting and meet physical demands
- Available to work some extra hours on occasion
