EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED REQUIRED: • Post secondary training (preferably in Health and Safety, and/or Ergonomics) • Minimum two (2) years experience in an Environmental Health and Safety position, or relevant experience. • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation • In-depth knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations in Ontario • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) • Ability to prioritize, and complete work in a timely and organized manner • Ability to work under pressure PREFERRED: • Knowledge regarding automotive and industrial plants • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles • Demonstrated investigative skills EDUCATION: Post secondary degree or training (Health and Safety and/or Ergonomics preferred) EXPERIENCE: • Develops and maintains environmental, health and safety policies and programs • Maintain knowledge of Canadian and Ontario rules, regulations and codes as well as company policies and programs. The ideal candidate will be able to use this knowledge to implement health and safety management systems and programs • Maintain and manage WSIB claims and WHMIS Programs • Draft and implement an entire MSD Program • Develop and implement all Health and Safety policies and programs including ( but not limited to) pre start-ups. • Manage and coordinate plant safety and health prevention programs • Conduct training sessions to Plant Management and Personnel for Health and Safety Programs • Investigate occupational injuries and illnesses; recommend improvement measures • Prepare and co-ordinate health and safety reviews, audits, inspections and communications • Facilitate prevention and improvements in developing and maintaining a safe work environment • Be able to keep safety records and files up to date and organized SALARY: 50K-55K Company Profile --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GREAT CONNECTIONS EMPLOYMENT We are leading Ontario-based full cycle employment services agency, providing premium human resource solutions to clients, large and small in a multitude of industries.
